The Gill Chase Annual Care Award is a way for us to recognise the hard work and dedication our staff put into delivering high quality person-centred care and support to Extra Hands customers, whilst demonstrating dignity and respect in their working too.

The Origin of the AwardThis sought after award is named in honour of a long serving carer with Extra Hands, Gill Chase, who sadly passed away in 2014. Gill was a loyal, committed carer working in the community to support her clients. The award represents everything that Gill incorporated into her working day; respect, compassion but most of all she brought sunshine and laughter into people’s lives on a daily basis which never faltered. Nominations:The award is open to any member of Extra Hands; nominations open mid-September. The closing date for nominations is the 31st October each year. A judging panel made up of Managers and Service Users meet in November to confidentially discuss nominations against a set criteria and agree a list of shortlisted staff; from this a winner from each office and an overall winner is decided. An award presentation is held in December each year and all shortlisted finalists are invited along with the people who made the nominations. Nomination forms are available to download here or can be requested by contacting us from mid-September. Further details will be uploaded nearer the time. |
