How to Apply - It Couldn’t Be Any Easier

If you’d like to join a supportive, friendly team, get great job satisfaction and make a real difference to people’s lives then apply today!

Who Can Apply

It doesn’t matter if you’re experienced or completely new to the care industry, we’d love to welcome you to our team.

Previous experience is not essential as comprehensive training is given. You just need to be reliable, compassionate and willing to learn.

How to Apply

You can apply online or request an application form be sent to you.

What Happens Next?

Once your application has been received and reviewed by our recruitment team, if you are successful you will be invited in for an interview.

Interviews are conducted by the staff that will support you throughout the whole induction process and beyond.

At interview we will be looking for candidates that can demonstrate caring, compassionate, reliable, honest and trustworthy qualities. At Extra Hands we have very high standards that we expect all staff to meet, therefore not all people who attend an interview will be successful.

If you have been successful at the interview stage, the next process would be to obtain your written and verbal references and an enhanced DBS check. Once these have been received and accepted, a suitable induction date will be arranged for you.

The Application Process

Starting Your Training

Your training will be provided completely free of charge and you’ll even be paid for the time it takes you to attend. Training is held in our own in-house training suites at either our Heacham or Norwich & Broadland office. These courses are specifically designed for small groups and our Training Officer will tailor the program accordingly to support you through the process. This means they’ll be able to offer you extra help if you need it, so you’ll get the maximum benefit from your learning. This is a blended learning process which includes classroom based learning, shadowing experienced carers in the workplace, observations and practical assessments.

The basic induction program lasts for 2 weeks with additional support if required. During this process you will be paid at our training rate and supported by your own team who will continue to work with you throughout your time at Extra Hands.

Starting Work

Once your induction program is complete and you have commenced work within the community, we will continue to support you with on-going training, ensuring that you complete the Care Certificate and further your knowledge and skills in all relevant areas. Although the majority of your work will be carried out within your community, you are given full support and backup from your team so that you will never feel that you are ‘alone’.

You’ll be paid every 4 weeks directly into your bank account.
