The September winners for our Going the Extra Mile Award have been chosen, and it was certainly not an easy task.
Congratulations to Peter Cox who works out of our Heacham office and Kate Davis who is based at our Broadland office, they are both very deserving winners and we are delighted to share their success.
Peter had a change of career to join us as a carer and he has really found his niche in life with praise for his kind and caring nature.
“Peter’s safeguarding is on point and he is always aware of issues around him. All the service users love how kind and gentle he is and the kindness he shows to other carers. He can’t do enough and nothing is too much trouble for him and he most definitely deserves this award. Keep being you,” says one of his nominations.
“When I visit someone who Peter has visited they all have very nice things to say about him. I have read his notes and from what I have read, he really does go that extra mile, from taking locks home and fixing them to taking photos of sunsets and printing them out for service users. He seems like such a smiley, positive individual.
“From what I know he hasn’t worked in care before, but he has taken on the role that I feel he was made for,” says a second nomination.
A third nomination said he ‘always does his best to go the extra step.’
Meanwhile, our Horsham St Faith winner Kate was nominated for ‘being very caring and professional.’
We wish to congratulate our latest GEM winners and look forward to reading nominations for the next awards.
