“I’ve been responsible for my brother-in-law Gordon since my sister died three years ago. He’s 94 and lives 25 miles away, and I’m in my 80s so I can’t get to him too often, so I couldn’t wish for him to be in better hands than Extra Hands. They’ve been absolutely excellent in every aspect of his care.
“Two days a week he has someone who goes in and does general jobs for him, and sometimes takes him out shopping, although he still likes to cook for himself as he’s very independent. Every day he has a daily check, where someone goes in for about 15 minutes just to see how he is, so seven days a week, Extra Hands are caring for him.
“I’ve had the coronavirus myself, which has meant that recently I’ve had to rely on them 100% to look after him, and their level of involvement and care has been absolutely first class. As well as looking after him, they’ve also made my life so much easier because I know I don’t have to worry about how he is.
“Extra Hands have gone out on such a limb to look after him, they always do that to make sure the people they are looking after are cared for properly, so I wrote to say thank you because I thought they really deserved it, and I wanted them to know. If people said thank you a bit more in life, then the world would be a lot nicer place overall.”
